Saltwater Sessions was founded in 2017 by Chantel and Lennan Delaney as a means to connect their music community from the east, to their new home in Kimberley, BC.
We have a passion for Canadiana, the Maritimes and Celtic music so Saltwater Sessions is about bringing musical performances in from away that showcase the rich musical history and culture of Canada's East Coast and its influences.
We select venues throughout Southern Alberta and the East Kootenays to hold concerts and music tours. We invite you to follow us on social media for regular updates.
We look forward to getting back on the stage! Please check back for updates.
"So GRATEFUL to have been at this concert last night. We were blown away by the East Coast music of Lennan Delaney and Nathan Bishop Macdonald last night. Nathan has a voice that is thick with tradition and transports you to rocky cliffs and salty air....could have listened to him sing all day. Our local Lennan (well WOW.....), he is an incredible fiddler and musician who poured his heart into the strings and at moments we were certain his strings would combust. These two created a contagious love for their Cape Breton roots. They have one more show tonight and there are tickets left!!!!! THIS IS A MUST SEE...Support Salt Water Sessions (Lennan Delaney and Chantel Loree Delaney) so we can get more of these amazing musicians out this way." -Denai Bell
"The last time the dynamic Celtic duo Lennan Delaney and Nathan MacDonald hit the Saltwater Sessions stages, here in Cranbrook and Kimberley, we were presented with a passionate, energetic and magical medley of traditional east coast, Irish and Scottish reels, jigs and ballad’s intertwined with a number of well penned, home grown, tunes. Lennan’s mesmerizing fiddle and mandolin playing merged in perfect synergy with Nathan’s baritone vocals, folky guitar picks and licks. These guys are seasoned and professionals who are individually renowned way beyond the Canadian Celtic scene. They know how to put on a show that will take you on a foot tapping, chair dancing, shin digging journey through the spectrum of traditional and contemporary Celtic music.
The Saltwater Sessions series has added a welcome new strand of Celtic music to the growing eclectic mix of live cultural events in this region. The organizers can be proud of the standards and caliber of the artists they are introducing to our area. Keep up the good work guys." -Ged Kelley
